This riddle presses adoptees from the moment we are relinquished.

An Adoptee’s Riddle of Belonging

A formula of lies obliterated my origins

and  gave me 
a chance 
for a better life.
What life would I have had?
Where were they,  the lost ones?
I came from those who had no power
to the ones who had what I needed to live
in a riddle of never belonging.
