Dear Readers,
Welcome to the first post of Memoir-ish Musings by Mel.
A good late Autumn Sunday to you! Here in Lewes, Delaware, it’s heavily overcast and if I squint, it might be sprinkling. No wind, so the damp, tawny maple leaves persist.
I took a notion this Thanksgiving, to rearrange things in these spaces. Earlier this year (was it July?) I began a secondary newsletter to Roots and Branches See Archive. I titled the new one, Mel’s Musings, and later added “Memories.”
I am grateful for your presence there! For a newbie Substacker with no claim to fame, I think it went well. At least, I enjoyed writing new posts, and sharing previously-published essays — revising as needed.
Without taking down that site, I’m thrilled to introduce this new one! As revealed by its name and description, the content should be more or less the same as Mel’s Musings and Memories — less emphasis on my Adoptee side and more on my “artsy” side. Shall we see?
It has taken me this long to realize there is a thing called “Sections” and that it may be an advantage to keep the primary newsletter with subsequent pubs and pages; the like, together, if for no other reason than the domain. I’d love to hear about your experience. Best practice has eluded me.
Thanks for being here at Memoir-ish Musings by Mel. Please subscribe and share if you enjoy what you see!
P.S. Here is free access to the archives. You may expect to find similar content in this new space.
