an excerpt from my book 'I Must Have Wandered: An Adopted Air Force Daughter Recalls'
Thanks for telling your story so clearly. I readily identified with your vigilance and need to assume the persona of others. I was also adopted at birth and recently began my search for how being adopted has shaped me. I'm 77, so a bit late to the party!
Such a traumatic existence....always trying to fit in. I wasn't adopted, my father abandoned me when I was 2 yrs old and we moved a lot after my mother remarried....too many schools, too many adjustments, so I can relate somewhat with you and that terrible feeling of: who am I, why did this happen to me, where do I belong. You are a survivor. I admire you very much for writing your story, being open and honest. Dianne Moritz, xxoo
