I really like this form of writing. Some people are not meant to be mothers. I know mine wasn't. She was verbally and psychologically abusive and self-involved. Thank goodness we both had adoring grandmothers. (I suppose the flyswatter didn't hurt that much, but the idea of hitting a child saddens me).
